Meet Ellen King

After working a myriad of jobs in various industries for many years, I decided to use what I’ve learned and experienced to help others navigate their own journeys. Whether it’s starting a business, taking a leadership role, or being a successful team player, I will be there along the way to help you accomplish your goals.

I received my bachelor’s degree from Hunter College and worked in New York City at entertainment companies including Comedy Central, MP3.com, and Rollingstone.com.  After 9/11, I moved to Syracuse to be closer to my family and completed my MBA at Syracuse University (SU) while I was employed at the university. It was at SU where I had the opportunity to lead various offices from alumni relations to special events. I am proud to have worked on events that featured President Joe Biden, Oprah, Trevor Noah, Mike Tirico, Margaret Atwood and many other talented individuals from all walks of life.

In the realm of volunteering, I really enjoyed my time with the folks from the YWCA of Syracuse and Onondaga County. It was at the “Y” where I served as chair of the board of directors and led a team of amazing women professionals usher in a new eara for the YWCA. It was during this time that the YWCA was one of the first round recipients of MacKenzie Scott’s donations to non-profits. We were lucky to receive $1 MILLION dollars from Ms. Scott!

Make Time To Do What You Love

I never thought I wanted to be a dog owner, until I adopted this sweet Husky-Basenji pup I called Rozzy. Having her in my life was more profound than I ever anticipated- the time I spent with her was filled with laughter, joy, excitement, wonder, and yes, frustration and tears. Most of all, our time together was filled with happiness.

Find what makes you happy and take the time to enjoy the experience- whether it’s adopting a pet, taking a long walk, going to see an art exhibit, or talking on the phone with a good friend, do the things that make you smile and bring you joy. It is really that simple.
